What is the MCSC?
The Manitoba Car Seat Coalition
is a group of volunteers, who through education and public
awareness, are dedicated to improving the safety of children
travelling in motor vehicles. All coalition members have certifiable
training as child restraint technicians.
Who are we?
We are a non-profit, independent
group, comprised of individuals from various career backgrounds,
and from various regions of Manitoba. We volunteer our time
and efforts toward the promotion of safe vehicle travel for
children. All monies or in-kind contributions that we receive
from interested parties, or event sponsors, are allocated
towards the promotion and public awareness of child restraint
safety.
Amazing Fact - Car Seats - Child
Restraints
The first child car seats were invented in 1921, following
the introduction of the Henry Ford's Model T, however, they
were very different from today's car seat. The earliest versions
were essentially sacks with drawstring attached to the back
seat.
